Your first evening will be yours to spend how you wish, your rep will host a brief introduction session in the evening and will be able to recommend restaurants and places of interest for your first night.
After a tasty breakfast, we will meet our local guide for the Bangkok tour, we start with a river cruise down the Chaophraya before visiting the beautiful Wat Arun. We then have an exciting Tuk Tuk ride through the city to see the awe-inspiring reclining Buddha and the Golden Mount where you get the best views of the city.
The evening is free for you to enjoy although we would recommend a trip to Thailand tallest sky tower and/or a walk down the infamous Khao San road.
This morning we will leave for Sing Buri, the transfer will take around 4 hours depending on traffic and we will be making a stop en route for lunch. After everyone has had time to settle in and unpack we will take a trip to the local market, this is a totally authentic Thai experience where you will get the opportunity to choose from hundreds of local dishes and snacks!
We will have a briefing and introduction session in the evening followed by a Welcome Ceremony from the local school children highlighting traditional Thai dancing.
We will spend the morning lessons planning and preparing for the week ahead, we will also be sending you back to school with a Thai language lesson! The afternoon will include a visit to the famous Lopburi monkey town, make sure you leave any loose items behind, the monkeys are known to be very cheeky.
Today is your first day in the school, get to know your class and put into practice your lesson plans, games and songs.
After lunch you will have an introduction to the construction project, try your hand at making bricks, rendering, laying paths and making repairs and improvements, it's a huge undertaking and is constantly ongoing.
After experiencing both the teaching and construction aspects of the program you are free to choose between the 2 activities for the remainder of the week, there is also the opportunity for you to teach a sports class should you wish to do so.
This evening we will be getting involved in a local cooking class, learn how to make delicious pad thai and mango sticky rice!
Another day working at the Temple school, by now you’ll be running classes like a pro, we will also include a arts and crafts session so the kids can get creative and get their hands dirty!
Your last day at the Temple School project, again you can choose between English teaching, sports or the construction project. If you feel that you have a skill set that would benefit the school and the children in a different role we would be more than happy to discuss ways to facilitate this.
It’s the weekend! We have some amazing activities planned! Starting with a day trip to Ayutthaya the old capital of Bangkok, filled with fascinating history, beautiful temples, awe-inspiring Buddha’s and abandoned ruins. A local tour guide will be on hand to show you around and answer any questions you might have.
We are having an early start this morning to Wat Muang to take part in Tak Bak (Almsgiving) where the monks receive their morning food donations.
Since we are already up nice and early we will hit the road to Kanchanaburi which is around a 4-hour journey.
We will spend the afternoon at Ewaran waterfalls, a stunning natural wonder in the Sai Yok national park, make sure to pack your swimwear!
One of the highlights of the trip, we are spending the full day at the Elephant Havan sanctuary, spend the morning preparing their food, expect messy hands as you make rice and banana treat balls and countless watermelons! Get up close and personal as you give them their breakfast then accompany them on a peaceful walk through the forest. The afternoon is where you get down and dirty and take the elephants for a swim in the river, it really is a once in a lifetime bucket list moment.
Today we will go an visit the bridge over the river Kwai and learn about the history that gives it the name ‘The Death Railway’ due to its construction during the second world war.
We will also take a boat trip down the river and stop to pay our respects at the cemetery. Lunch is at a wonderful restaurant overlooking the water.
We will depart for Hua Hin this afternoon (3-4 hour transfer).
This evening will be an opportunity to glam up and check out the sky bar for cocktails and incredible views over the city.
The next two days we are back to school! Today we will be taking lessons at the local school in Hua Hin, you'll be able to see the contrasts between the Temple school and the government-funded school in terms of amenities and teaching materials. These children do have a higher level of English so you can really get stuck in and help them with their conversational skills.
Wake up and enjoy a free morning, either lay by the pool and work on your tan or if you are feeling a bit more energetic you can get involved with one of our optional activities.
Highly recommend is Muay Thai boxing, whether you a complete beginner or a regular gym goer the trainers will really put you through your paces, if that sounds like to much hard work enjoy a poolside yoga session or jump on a bike and explore the local area.
This afternoon we get to visit Monsoon Valley a little hidden gem of a vineyard, take a vineyard tour or just sit on the veranda and enjoy a tasting menu of incredible wines and fabulous food, one of the highlights of the trip.
Today is a free beach day but not before we take a trip to the Monkey Temple, with a breathtaking view of the sea it's really not one to be missed.
Then it's all about relaxing, enjoy a beach massage and have lunch at one of the beachside cafe's or feel free to take this day as your own and explore Hua Hin at your own pace.
Sadly this will be our last night together as a group so we have a final group meal planned over the water so we can reminisce on an incredible trip and get planning the reunion!
All good things must come to an end sadly, and today is departure day.
We will be leaving camp at 9 am to make our way back to Bangkok, if you are planning to fly home today please ensure you leave enough time to get to the airport.
Private transfer and additional travel plans can also be arranged for you.
Please note: Itinerary is subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.

The Camp Travel experience went way beyond my expectations.
It was by far the best travel experience I have ever had and has totally changed my perception of an alternative vacation.

The Camp Travel Experience has been very amazing, it has been a good balance between supporting schools, meeting new people, cultural and recreational experiences. The whole experience has energised me in to wanting to make a difference, I can’t wait to return and I plan on helping support the school and the children from back in the UK.

Teaching at Camp Travel was one of the most enriching experiences of my life, the sweet irony is that we went to invest in the children but it was the Camp travel team members that came away positively impacted, challenged and emotionally expanded. For the first time in my adult life, I believe I have found my “calling” – the ability to discover new cultures and have a positive impact in such a way that has left me craving further adventures overseas.
Since returning many of the people from the group have continued to explore ways in which we can continue to support the young people we encountered. Not only is it making a positive impact in Thailand it is creating a positive impact in my own life, ambitions and relationship.

Our Mission – The Temple School
The Temple School based in rural Sing Buri is a boarding school home to over 300 children. The children come mostly from the hill tribes in Thailand and a lot of these children do not hold Thai citizenship meaning they are not eligible for government schooling. These children come from extremely poor backgrounds and have travelled huge distances to access education.
The school its self is relies entirely on donations and is underfunded, there are over 300 pupils and only 11 full-time staff and teachers that all look after the children.
The school can not afford to employ English teachers so the level of English is below the national average. We want to change that!
The Camp Travel program has 3 main aims:
- To improve the level of English across all age groups to bring them in line with the government standard, we have devised a development plan that focuses on continuous development that volunteers can easily deliver in the classroom
- To assist with the renovation effort at the temple school, to improve the living and sanitation facilities
- To fundraise for the school and continue to support each child through their education, a percentage of each application fee goes directly to the school.
By taking part in Camp Travel you are having a direct profound impact on the future of these children and will increase their chances of a brighter future through access to better English education.
